Cymbet EnerChip™ Energy Processor Wins Gold Best of Sensors Expo Award and ACE Award Finalist

July 13, 2010

Elk River, Minn., July 13, 2010 – Cymbet Corporation today announced that it has been awarded a Gold Sensors "Best of Sensors Expo" award in the Sensor Components category. Cymbet won the award for its EnerChip™ Energy Processor CBC915-ACA, a universal energy harvesting power management unit for ultra-low power energy harvesting-based systems. The EnerChip Energy Processor (EP) is the first device to work universally across all energy harvesting transducer technologies, including photovoltaic, thermoelectric, piezoelectric and electromagnetic. EnerChip EP information can be found at http://www.cymbet.com/content/products-enerchip-eh.asp.

The Sensors "Best of Sensors Expo" awards honored the most exciting new products on display at the 2010 Sensors Expo & Conference, which took place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. All entries were judged on the basis of potential impact, application, distinctiveness, timeliness and availability.

The panel of judges included the Sensors magazine's editorial staff, members of the editorial advisory board and industry experts, including Melanie Martella, executive editor of Sensors, Ed Ramsden from Lattice Semiconductor, and Deb Lickness and Bruce Upchurch from John Deere.

"The awards program recognizes cutting-edge solutions in the sensors marketplace," said Martella. "All of the nominations demonstrated exceptional innovation, integration and ease-of-use. We believe this year's winners will be leaders in the sensors marketplace and offer our congratulations to the companies recognized."

EnerChip Energy Processor Honored as ACE Award Finalist

Tech Insight's EE Times announced that the Cymbet EnerChip EP CBC915-ACA also was a finalist at the fifth Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards, honoring innovators who demonstrate global electronics industry leadership. Cymbet was named in the "Most Promising Renewable Energy" award category."

Said Bill Priesmeyer, CEO of Cymbet, "The Cymbet team is honored to have the recently released EnerChip Energy Processor receive these accolades. Sensors and EE Times are leaders in educating our industry on the latest and most innovative electronics technologies. To have both these publications recognize the EnerChip EP is truly an incredible accomplishment."

The Cymbet EnerChip EP enables electronics designers to build "Energy Aware" solutions. Energy harvesting-based systems is a rapidly growing market. According to the Darnell Group in their recently released Energy Harvesting Technologies & Energy Storage: Worldwide Forecasts, Third Edition, worldwide sales of energy harvesting nodes are expected to total 630.5 million units over the five-year period between 2010 and 2015.
